Visible Mending

Explore two different visible mending techniques: darning and sashiko. Using basic embroidery supplies, you’ll practice on your own items—bring an old, holey, or plain pair of socks and jeans that need mending. If you don’t have anything to repair, we’ll provide patches to work on. Some previous hand sewing experience is required. If you’re new to stitching, consider taking our Intro to Hand Embroidery class offered in the weeks prior to build your skills. Suitable for ages 8 and up.
